It works perfectly. It is nice to have an app do one thing and do it very well.

I too am totally blind. I’m so glad, and so is my spouse, that I can now help make sure all the lights are off at night!! ‘This is a totally awesome app!!!
As a totally blind person, this app is wonderful for telling whether my environment has enough light to take decent pictures with TapTapSee, or to call Be My Eyes. Great thing to have among my utilities.
I just bot this App today And I am amaze about what this app can do Thank you for making this app for blind/visually impaired
This app makes a low humming sound when you open it in a dark room, and the sound changes pitch depending on how much light the camera sees. When I first opened it I thought it wouldn't be that useful, but I just didn't realise how many things are indicated by a little light. I've used it to tell if an old cell phone was charging, if the coffee pot was on, if a light was burned out, if the kids had the light on in their room after bedtime, and even if a stick of incense was still burning. It's very sensitive and reliable.
Best feature ever for identifying led lights on small appliances like slow cookers and espresso machines.
I've used this app for years. It was a very nice and handy tool. However, as soon as I upgraded from my iPhone 4s to my iPhone 6 Plus, the app no longer worked. Hopefully, the developer can fix this soon. Until then, do not buy this if you have an iPhone 6 Plus..
Great app but it needs updating
I am legally blind. This app works okay inside the house. But, I suppose I need to get a little bit more used to it. The continuous buzzing is kind of irritating. But it does respond to light very well.
I am blind and use this when I go visit other people or stay in a hotel. I'm able to make sure I have all the lights off for my guide dog. Even though I cannot see the light my dog still has problems sleeping with it on. I recently moved into a new house and have tons and tons of light switches in every room. This app helps me figure out which switch is for which light.
This is a great app, because I have no light perception, this app is invaluable to me. People come to my home leave a light on I don't know if it's on or off so I use this app to check that. Great work great app much appreciated.
No fuss; no frills. This little beauty does quickly and reliably what it says it does. The upgrade makes it possible to detect a blinking as opposed to a steady light source in some cases. I also appreciate the ability to mute the sound without closing the app. I use this app all the time.
Now I feel more confident using visual apps as a totally blind person.
Very easy to use! It's actually fun! Now, for your next trick, what about a color detector that's easy to use? Thank you.
I wanted an app like this. It feels like i regained the light perception that I lost a long time ago. Adding vibrating feature might help deaf blind people also.
As Chuck Berry has been reported to have said: "Keep it simple ...." For a totally blind person, this app allows detection of light at various levels. If a light has been left on or not turned on, the detector indicates this by its tone: low for low or no light and high for bright light, with gradations according to the light source. The app lets the user know if a bulb has been burnt out or whether someone in the house has, or has not, forgotten to open or close blinds or curtains. Works every time without fail on my IPhone 4. If you want to play with it, you can engage the app, scan the phone across a solid object, such as a standing person and the tones will warble and oscillate. Just tell your subject that they have confirmation that they have not been transformed into an alien. (smile)
It does exactly what it says. Theres nothing else to it. No settings of any sort. Seems pointless and is overpriced. I've never seen a blind person with an iPhone before. How could a blind person find this app in the app store or care to even know whether the light is on or not? I bet money a blind person has never bought a light bulb. And I'd bet money a blind person doesn't even put the lights on in their own home. Pointless app. Don't buy unless you are blind and want an app to let you know if the light is on or not.
Not bad, has a good start. Found out the kitchen bulb is out since last night. A zoom slider would be nice to detect led lights, but over all not bad with my 3gs. Good work!
Does exactly as intended. Can't wait to see what they do next. Color identification would be nice.
I'm loving this app a lot. It reminded me I left a lamp on.
This app performs great on my 3GS, doing just what it says it will. No need to grab a separate device to confirm that the lights are out after the family has gone to bed. With such an incredible price, the app will pay for itself within one power bill for sure.
